Have you ever found a file on a disk and wondered what application to use to view it or even where it came from. Help is at hand.

The boring but useful File Type Index  is now here.

It is an alphabetic index of three character file extensions used by DOS and Windows with details about where they came from. I do not claim that all extensions are there yet as this will take some time. In the mean time if you have details of any of the missing types, please drop me a line and I will include them as soon as possible.

In my spare time I also do some develoment work on web sites for other people.
